Just as I am, without one plea but that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come! I come!
Just as I am, and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot,
To thee whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come! I come!
Just as I am, thou tossed about with many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fighting and fear within, without, O lamb of God, I come! I come!
Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find O Lamb of God, I come! I come!
Just as I am, Thou wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe, O lamb of God, I come! I come!
Written by Daniel W. Whittle 1840 - 1901
I really like this hymn because no matter how much you are sinning God will cleanse you.

More Sayings and Verses from my Great Grandparents
Here are more sayings and verses from my Great Grandparents.
We mutter and sputter, we fume and we spurt.
We mumble and grumble; our feelings get hurt.
We can't understand things; our vision grows dim.
When all that we need is a moment with Him.
Words may tear our lives apart, bring us stormy weather;
a compliment tucked in the heart can heal it back together.
The greatest love mankind will ever experience is God's eternal love.
What sort of church would our church be if every member were just like me?
A smile is a language understood by all persons.
A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up wrath. Proverbs 15: 1
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High. Psalms 92: 1
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12: 1-2
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14: 12
But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. James 1: 14-15
For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, weather thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities all things have been created through Him and of Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. Colossians 1: 16-17
For if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13
Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. John 15: 4-5
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14: 27
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 4: 18
My son, give attention to my words. Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. Proverbs 4: 20-21
I hope you liked the sayings and verses. I like the picture of the waterfall, which reminds me of God's creation.

The Fight Is On
The Fight is On
The fight is on the trumpet sound is ringing out, The cry "To arms" is heard afar and near; The Lord of hosts is marching on to victory, The triumph of the Christ will soon appear.
Chorus
The fight is on, O Christian soldier, And face to face in stern array, With armor gleaming and colors streaming, The right and wrong engage today! The fight is on, but be not weary, Be strong and in His might hold fast; If God be for us, His banner o'er us, We'll sing the victor's song at last!
The Fight is on arouse, ye soldiers brave and true! Jehovah leads, and vict'ry will assure; Go buckle on the armor God has given you, And in His strength unto the end endure.
Chorus
The fight is on, O Christian soldier,And face to face in stern array, With armor gleaming and colors streaming, The right and wrong engage today! The fight is on, but be not weary, Be strong and in His might hold fast; if God be for us, His banner o'er us, We'll sing the victor's song at last!
The Lord is leading on to certain victory, The bow of promise spans the eastern sky; His glorious name in ev'ry land shall honored be, the morn will break the dawn of peace is nigh.
Chorus
The fight is on, O Christian soldier, and face to face in stern array, With armor gleaming and colors streaming, The right and wrong engage today! The fight is on, but be not weary, Be strong and in His might hold fast; If God be for us, His banner o'er us, We'll sing the victor's song at last!
Written by Lelia N. Morris, 1862 - 1929. I really like this song because we have God who is with us to the end. It is a catchy marching tune.

Meet Me There
Meet Me There
On the happy, golden shore, Where the faithful part no more, When the storms of life are o'er, Meet me there; where the night dissolves away, Into pure and perfect day, I am gong home to stay; Meet me there.
Chorus
Meet me there, Meet me there, Where the tree of life is blooming, Meet me there; When the storms of life are o'er, On the happy golden shore, Where the faithful part no more, Meet me there.
Here our fondest hopes are vain, Dearest links are rent in twain, But in heaven no throb of pain, Meet me there; By the river sparkling bright in the city of delight, Where our faith is lost in sight, meet me there.
Chorus
Meet me there, Meet me there, Where the tree of life is blooming, meet me there; When the storms of life are o'er. On the happy golden shore, Where the faithful part on more, Meet me there.
Where the harps of angels ring, And the blest forever sing, in the palace of the King, Meet me there; Where in sweet communion blend with heart and friend with friend, In a world that never shall end, Meet me there.
Chorus
Meet me there, Meet me there, Where the tree of life is blooming, Meet me there; When the storms of life are o'er, On the happy, golden shore, here the faithful part me more, Meet me there.

Fanny Crosby, 1885. Some hymnals show the author as Henrietta Blair, one of Fanny’s pseudonyms.

I also hope to meet you all there.

Is My Name Writen There?
Is My Name Written There?
Lord, I care not for riches, neither silver nor gold I would make sure of heaven I would enter the fold. In the book of Thy kingdom with its pages so fair, tell me, Jesus, my Savior, is my name written there?
Refrain
Is my name written there; On the page white and fair? In the book of Thy kingdom, Is my name written there?
Lord, my sins they are many, like the sands of the sea, But thy blood, O my Savior, is sufficient for me; For Thy promise is written in bright letters that glow; "Tho your sins be as scarlet, I will make them like snow."
Refrain
Is my name written there, On the pages white and fair? In the Book of Thy kingdom, Is my name written there?
O that beautiful city with its mansions of light, With its glorified beings in pure garments of white; Where no evil thing cometh despoil what is fair, Where the angels are watching yes, my name's written there.
Refrain
Yes, my name's written there On the page white and fair; In the book of Thy kingdom, Yes, my name's written there?
Mary A. Kidder 1820-1905
Is your name found in the Book of Life? The Lord has made it so for me and I hope for you too.

A Child's Calendar
A Child's Calendar
January brings the snow.
Makes our feet and fingers glow.
February bring the rain,
Thaws the frozen lake again.
March brings breezes, loud and shrill,
To stir the dancing daffodil.
April brings the primrose sweet,
Scatters daisies at our feet.
May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
Skipping by their fleecy dams.
June brings tulips, lilies, roses,
Fills the children's hands with posies.
Hot July brings cooling showers,
Apricots and gillyflowers.
August brings the sheaves of corn,
then the harvest home is borne.
Warm September brings the fruit;
sportsmen then begin to shoot.
Fresh October brings the blast;
Then the leaver are whirling fast.
Chill December brings the sleet,
Blazing fire,and Christmas treat.

Choosing A Name
Choosing A Name
I have got a new - born sister
I was nigh the first that kissed her.
When the nursing - woman brought her
To Papa, his infant daughter,
How Papa's dear eyes did glisten!
She will shortly be to christen!
And Papa has made the offer,
I shall have the naming of her.
Now I wander what would please her,
Charlotte, Julia, or Louisa?
Ann and Mary, they're to common;
Joan's too formal for a woman;
Jane a prettier name beside;
But we had a Jane that died.
Edith's pretty, but that looks
Better in an old English book;
Ellen's left off long ago;
Blanche is out of fashion now.
None that I have named as yet
Are so good as Margaret.
Emily is neat and fine;
What do you think of Caroline?
How to choose or think of next!
I am in a little fever
Lest the name that I should give her
Should disgrace her or defame her;
I will leave Papa to name her.
The Victorian Nursery Companion by Charles and Mary Lamb (1809)
A good name is to be more desired than great wealth . . . Proverbs 22.1

A Gift From My Great Grandparents.
A Gift From My Great Grandparents
Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be, in working or in waiting, another year with Thee. Another year of leaning upon Thy loving breast. Another year of trusting, quiet, happy rest.
God be in my eyes, and in my looking. God be in my mouth, and in my speaking. God be in my heart, and in my thinking. God be at my end and at my departing.
Little things can often be the biggest things in someone's day.
Peace rules the day when Christ rules the mind.
Casting all you anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come?
My help comes from the Lord? Who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2
If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him.
The Lord wants our precious time, not our spare time.
Let not your heart be troubled, the Lord will see you through.
Whatever you do you work heartily, as for the Lord rather then for men.
Love never asks how much must I do, but how much can I do?
These are sayings collected and given to us by my Great Grandparents. It is really exciting to know that I have something from them. I have a saying for everyday of the year.

The Lord is My Shepherd
Psalm 23
The Lord, the Psalmist's Shepherd
A Psalm of David
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
I like this psalm because it reminds that you can always turn find strength in the Lord. I always feel uplifted when I read it.

A Soldier of the Cross
Am I a Soldier of the Cross?
Am I a soldier of the cross? A follower of the Lamb?
And shall I fear to own His cause Or blush to speak His name?
Must I be carried to the skies on flowery beds of ease, While others fought to win the prize And sailed thur bloody seas?
Are there no foes for me to face? Must I not stem the flood? Is this vile world a friend to grace, To help me on to God?
Sure I fight if I would reign in crease my courage, Lord! I'll bear the toil, endure the pain, Supported by Thy Word.
This song was written by Thomas A. Arne. 1710 - 1778
I like this song because it shows how we can be supported by God through our trials.

Constantly Abiding
Constantly Abiding
There's a peace in my heart that the world never gave,
A peace it can not take away;
Tho the trials of life may surround like a cloud
I've a peace that has come there to stay!
Chorus
Constantly abiding Jesus is mine;
Constantly abiding rapture divine!
He never leaves me lonely whispers O so kind,
"I will never leave thee!" Jesus is mine.
All the world seemed to sing of a Savior and King
When peace sweetly came to my heart;
Troubles all fled away and my night turned to day Blessed Jesus,
How glorious Thou art!
Chorus
Constantly abiding Jesus in mine;
Constantly abiding rapture divine!
He never leaves me lonely whispers O so kind,
"I will never leave thee!" Jesus is mine.
This treasure I have in a temple of clay
While here on His footstool I roam;
But He's coming to take me, some glorious day,
Over there to my heavenly home!
Chorus
Constantly abiding Jesus is mine;
Constantly abiding rapture divine!
He never leaves me lonely whispers O so kind,
"I will never leave thee!" Jesus is mine.
Constantly Abiding was written by Anne S. Murphy.
I found the song in a study we where reading called Changed into His Image.
