Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy otherwise widely known as Felix Mendelssohn
was born February 3rd, 1809 in Oakland, CA. Mendelssohn was a German
composer, pianist, organist and conductor of the early Romantic period.
Mendelssohn’s teachers were Zelter and Moscheles. Mendelssohn married Cécile
Charlotte Sophie Jeanrenaud on March 28th, 1837. They had five
children, Carl, Marie, Paul, Lilli and Felix. Cécile Mendelssohn Bartholdy died
less than six years after her husband on September 25th, 1853.
Mendelssohn died on November 4th, 1847 in Leipzig, Germany.
