Happy New Year's Eve

Dear Friends,

The closing of this year is much like all the others, but yet this year is different. I was pleased to accomplish beyond what I expected, yet some of my plans were not achieved this year. I will have the chance to draft up another list of goals and plans for 2014.

Here are a few fun facts about this blog.
  • This is the 180th post on this blog.
  • I have 25 wonderful followers!!
  • I have had this blog for almost 3 years.
  • I started it on Saturday, February 5, 2011.
What are some of your resolutions for next year? Do you do anything special for New Year's Eve?

Below are some of the pictures of our home decorated for Christmas. Since this is the last day of 2013, it will be good to reflect God's goodness in my family's life and mine. This is the day the Lord has made and let us rejoice and be glad in it. May the Lord be glorified through our lives.

Happy New Year's Eve,
Maria

Why I Named My Blog Constantly Abiding

Constantly Abiding

There's a peace in my heart that the world never gave,
A peace it can not take away;
Tho the trials of life may surround like a cloud
I've a peace that has come there to stay!

Chorus: Constantly abiding Jesus is mine;
Constantly abiding rapture divine!
He never leaves me lonely whispers O so kind,
"I will never leave thee!" Jesus is mine.

All the world seemed to sing of a Savior and King
When peace sweetly came to my heart;
Troubles all fled away and my night turned to day Blessed Jesus,
How glorious Thou art!

Chorus: Constantly abiding Jesus in mine;
Constantly abiding rapture divine!
He never leaves me lonely whispers O so kind,
"I will never leave thee!" Jesus is mine.

This treasure I have in a temple of clay
While here on His footstool I roam;
But He's coming to take me, some glorious day,
Over there to my heavenly home!

Chorus: Constantly abiding Jesus is mine;
Constantly abiding rapture divine!
He never leaves me lonely whispers O so kind,
"I will never leave thee!" Jesus is mine.

Constantly Abiding was written by Anne S. Murphy.

When I read the words to this hymn, I find that it is so true that the my life will never be empty and that God will never leave me. The Lord is my peace and I will sever him all my days.

Here is the tune, I do not know what will come up on the side bar. Sorry if it's not good.

John J. Horn

I recommend these books to read.

I had bought the book Brothers At Arms at the Christian Heritage Homeschool Educators' Conference this year. I really liked the book. The book The Boy Colonel was lent to me by a friend and she told me that a third book has been released. From what I heard, the author will take the main characters from both books and write about them in the third. I am really excited and I can't wait to read them.
Even though the book looks to be for young men, it is really good for young women as well.
These books were written by John J. Horn.

Bill's Berry Farm

This past summer, we had the chance to volunteer during Bill's Berry Blueberry Festival held at Bill's Berry Farm. If you want to pick organic blueberries and visit the Yakima area, this is the place to visit in July. A wonderful atmosphere to visit that provides excellent tasting blueberry donuts, great price for organic blueberries, wonderful fiddling music, rides for children and a wholesome setting. I highly recommend going.
